On the 1st and 2nd of November 2004, the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam is hosting the conference 'Sharing Knowledge? Exploring the interfaces between science & society and the role of science communication'. The first day focusses on transdisciplinary research and new approaches to complex problems, with key-note speeches by Prof. dr. J. Bunders (Professor of Biology & Society). Prof. dr. S. Hughes (Professor of Biotechnology and Industrial Research) and Prof. dr. J. Grin (Professor of Policy Studies & Systeminnovations). Workshop themes are, amongst others:
Transdisciplinary Knowledge Production in Health Research, New Approaches to Complex Problems, Ethical Values and Scientific Knowledge Production, Social Responsible Enterprises.
Abstracts for papers and posters are due on September 15, 2004.
