Biology since the double helix, Teachers Workshop
The morning’s started with introductory scientific talks on different developments in the modern biology, like: plant genetic modification, oestrogens and the central nervous system. During the afternoon the teachers could visit an exhibition market and attend different practicals. Some of these practicals can be directly integrated in the teaching material and performed at there own school with there own pupils.
The finishing discussions of the day were on ‘Educational Practice’ kicked off by Dean Madden and John Schollar and ‘Ethics and Societal impact of modern biology’ introduced by Donald Bruce.
After supper on Friday evening the teachers were treated on a special life performance. A student group from Portugal performed a play called “Demiurge Contest”, with which they had already won a price in there own country.
